چکیده
C-Phycocyanin (PC) is a protein used commercially as natural blue pigment produced by cyanobacteria, cryptophytes, and rhodophytes. Although it industrially synthesized from the cyanobacterium Arthrospira platensis, PC requires high levels of energy for its extraction, which involves freezing cells. However, protein, easily denatured at extreme temperatures. In this study, we extracted red alga Cyanidioschyzon merolae, denoted CmPC, found that was tolerant to temperatures acidic pH. CmPC suspending cells in water mixed with various salts organic acids without freeze-drying or freeze-thaw. The stability varied salt concentration destabilized acids. Our results indicate C. merolae potential candidate production thermotolerant properties.

Mitochondrial localization of ferrochelatase in a red alga Cyanidioschyzon merolae.
Ferrochelatase (FECH) is an essential enzyme for the final step of heme biosynthesis. In green plants, its activity has been reported in both plastids and mitochondria. However, the precise subcellular localization of FECH remains uncertain. In this study, we analyzed the localization of FECH in the unicellular red alga, Cyanidioschyzon merolae. Immunoblot and enzyme activity analyses of subcel...
متن کاملSpatiotemporal dynamics of condensins I and II: evolutionary insights from the primitive red alga Cyanidioschyzon merolae
Condensins are multisubunit complexes that play central roles in chromosome organization and segregation in eukaryotes. Many eukaryotic species have two different condensin complexes (condensins I and II), although some species, such as fungi, have condensin I only. Here we use the red alga Cyanidioschyzon merolae as a model organism because it represents the smallest and simplest organism that...
متن کاملComplete sequence and analysis of the plastid genome of the unicellular red alga Cyanidioschyzon merolae.
The complete nucleotide sequence of the plastid genome of the unicellular primitive red alga Cyanidioschyzon merolae 10D (Cyanidiophyceae) was determined. The genome is a circular DNA composed of 149,987 bp with no inverted repeats. The G + C content of this plastid genome is 37.6%. The C. merolae plastid genome contains 243 genes, which are distributed on both strands and consist of 36 RNA gen...
متن کاملA nitrogen source-dependent inducible and repressible gene expression system in the red alga Cyanidioschyzon merolae
The unicellular red alga Cyanidioschyzon merolae is a model organism for studying the basic biology of photosynthetic organisms. The C. merolae cell is composed of an extremely simple set of organelles. The genome is completely sequenced. Gene targeting and a heat-shock inducible gene expression system has been recently established. However, a conditional gene knockdown system has not been esta...
متن کاملIdentification of highly-disrupted tRNA genes in nuclear genome of the red alga, Cyanidioschyzon merolae 10D
The limited locations of tRNA introns are crucial for eukaryal tRNA-splicing endonuclease recognition. However, our analysis of the nuclear genome of an early-diverged red alga, Cyanidioschyzon merolae, demonstrated the first evidence of nuclear-encoded tRNA genes that contain ectopic and/or multiple introns. Some genes exhibited both intronic and permuted structures in which the 3'-half of the...
